| Day 2 | Calgary - Banff | Calgary - Banff : Enjoy a short tour of Calgary before heading into the great Canadian Rockies and world-famous Banff National Park. On arrival in Banff, we explore the surrounding areas and view the odd shaped hoodoos standing guard over the Bow River Valley and Bow Falls. Look out for wildlife which includes elk, bear and wolves. This afternoon is free to explore the quaint town of Banff on your own, or join in one of the many optional activities available in the area. (Full Breakfast) Hotel: Banff Park Lodge |
| Day 3 | Banff - Lake Louise - Icefields Parkway - Jasper (2 nights) | Banff - Lake Louise - Icefields Parkway - Jasper (2 nights) : Our first stop is at Lake Louise. The amazing setting of mountain, lake, ice and sky will astound you. Learn about the wildlife, nature and history of the area as we take you on a narrated walk along the lakeshore. We then travel along the Icefields Parkway, one of the world's most spectacular drives. Marvel at the towering snow-capped peaks, azure lakes, thundering waterfalls, hanging glaciers and abundant wildlife. At the Columbia Icefield, we board an Ice Explorer for a unique ride on the enormous Athabasca Glacier. Then it is on to Jasper for a two-night stay. | Day 4 | Jasper | Jasper sightseeing & at leisure : We start the day with a narrated walk along Maligne Canyon, one of the Canadian Rockies' most beautiful gorges. Discover spectacular rock formations and waterfalls, and learn about one of Canada's longest underground river systems. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. Optional activities include a cruise on pristine Maligne Lake, a scenic float trip down the Athabasca River, or a guided alpine hike through the unmatched jagged beauty of Mount Edith Cavell. | Day 5 | Jasper - Mount Robson - Prince George | Jasper - Mount Robson - Prince George : Today, we head west along the scenic Yellowhead Highway. We stop at Mount Robson Provincial Park, one of the Canadian Rockies' crown jewels, and enjoy the best views of Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Rockies. Today, we travel on board The Skeena, one of the most unforgettable train journeys on earth and perhaps one of Canada's best-kept secrets! Relax and enjoy Totem Deluxe class service with reserved seating in the glass-domed car, and breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board. Keep an eye out for bear, moose, elk, deer, wolves, eagles and hawks, and marvel at the remote wild landscapes. Next, we are taken on a guided walking tour around the city, viewing the totem poles of Prince Rupert and learning of their significance to the aborigines. The rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy the scenic grandeur of this area, sailing through narrow passages, past thousands of islands, towering mountains, deep green carpets of coastal rainforest, and possibly spot eagles, bear, porpoise and the famous Orca Killer Whale. Next, we enjoy a winery tour and wine tasting in the Cowichan Valley, an area with a long Mediterranean-like growing season and mild maritime winters. This afternoon, we arrive in Victoria, British Columbia's capital, where an orientation tour introduces us to the beautiful Inner Harbour, the ornate Parliament Buildings, Thunderbird Totem Pole Park and Bastion Square. Stroll through the flower-filled streets and browse the shops for souvenirs.
